Framer just dropped some serious updates that are going to transform how we build websites and templates.

Some of the announced features include AI-powered design tools, completely rebuilt vector editing, and analytics to help you make better design decisions.

If you missed the Framer Spring Event, here's everything you need to know about the new features.

Wireframer: AI Design

This might be the biggest game-changer of the bunch, and the one I’m personally most excited about.

Wireframer claims to build complete websites with responsive layouts, clean sections, and pre-written copy. Framer claims it actually understands design principles, which is mindblowing, really.

Most AI needs at least some human intervention to meet a professional standard, but if Wireframer really does have this understanding, the time taken from design to packaging up is going to be so much shorter.

So, in theory, the AI handles all the structural work while you work on the creative decisions.

What impresses me most about Wireframer is how it handles responsive design automatically. No more manually adjusting breakpoints for every screen size.

The AI gets it right from the start.

Vectors 2.0: Accuracy Update to Vector Editing

Framer have completely rebuilt the vector tools, and it shows. You now get a dedicated canvas for vector work, which means you can create icons, illustrations, and graphics without jumping between apps.

The big win here is instant SVG editing.

Upload any SVG and you can start tweaking immediately. Plus, you can use variables in your vectors and animate with motion paths. I've already started incorporating this into my template workflow, and it’s super sleek.

For someone who sells templates regularly, having an accurate vector editor and site building canvas in one place is huge.

Workshop: Component Creator

I've been playing with this one non-stop since it was announced.

You describe what you want, Workshop builds a working component in seconds. That’s literally it.

The components come with built-in properties, so you can customize them just like any other Framer component.

This is going to change how we all build. Instead of spending hours coding custom components, you can again focus on design and let Workshop handle the technical implementation.

Analytics: A/B Testing and More

The new analytics features will share real data about how people use your designs with you. A/B testing is now possible too, so you can test different versions of your pages and see which performs better. You can now see exactly where people click on your site, too, and if you’re someone who's constantly optimizing conversion rates for clients, this data is gold.

Finally, funnel analysis will help you get a bit deeper the complete user journey, showing the exact moment your visitors bounce, so you'll know exactly which step in your site map needs improvement.

I think this is a really awesome addition and will definitely update on how it works out for me in the long run.

Why These Updates Matter for Template Creators

I've been building and selling Framer templates for years, and these updates solve real problems I face daily:

  • Speed: Wireframer cuts initial setup time by 70%. I can focus on making designs unique instead of starting from scratch every time.

  • Flexibility: Workshop means I can offer more interactive components in less time. My templates can be more sophisticated while staying easy to customize.

  • Data-driven decisions: The analytics help with understanding which template features actually matter to users. I can build better products based on actual usage data.

  • Professional quality: Vector 2.0 means cleaner graphics and smoother workflows. Everything stays crisp and editable.

These features fundamentally change how Framer works, and how you approach design projects. And even with Figma Sites recently announced, it’s never been more clear that Framer remains the best editor for site building and design.

Getting Started with the New Features

All these features are live right now. If you're on a Framer Pro plan or higher, you already have access. If you’re not, you can sign up for Framer here.

Here's how I'd recommend getting stuck in:

  1. Start with Wireframer for your next project. Even if you don't use the full output, it's great for rapid prototyping and getting ideas flowing.

  2. Test Workshop with simple components first. Try creating a testimonial slider or pricing card to get familiar with the interface.

  3. Set up analytics on your current sites. The data will help inform your future design decisions.

  4. Experiment with Vectors 2.0 if you do any icon or illustration work. The workflow improvements are immediately noticeable.

What This Means for the Future

Framer is clearly betting big on AI integration, and based on what I've seen, they're doing it right.

These tools don't replace creativity, and I love that Framer’s chosen to embrace AI as a creative tool to work with designers as opposed to against us.

We're moving toward a world where technical limitations matter less and design thinking matters more, which is so exciting for anyone who's ever had great ideas but struggled with implementation.
