You know too much, and it’s costing you money

Have you ever looked at your site and thought… this feels like too much?

It probably is.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from selling templates is this.

The simpler the site, the better it performs.

Not because simple is trendy. But because simple is clear. And clarity is what gets people to trust you, book you, or buy from you.

Most of the creative entrepreneurs that buy my templates fall into the same trap. They know too much, so they try to say too much.

And the site ends up overwhelming the people it’s supposed to help.

The same thing happens with design. It’s so easy to get carried away.

You try a new layout, add some movement, maybe a fancy hover effect. And before you know it, the design looks impressive but starts to feel busy. And busy almost always leads to confusion.

The real challenge is finding the balance. Your site should look good, but it should also feel effortless to use and understand.

You want design that supports your message, not design that distracts from it.

Here are a few practical ways to get there:

  • Use fewer font sizes and colors

  • Stick to one clear call-to-action per page

  • Leave more breathing room than you think you need

  • Test your site with someone who has never seen it before

  • Ask them what they remember and what they would click

The best websites don’t try to do everything. They make the next step obvious.

If you’re starting from scratch or want to simplify what you’ve already built, my Framer website templates are designed to do just that.
